Hamburg Gaming history

Since 1942, Hamburg Gaming has been an integral part of the Buffalo Raceway harness racing facility, which has seen multiple changes in ownership over the years. Sportservice Corp. acquired the racetrack in 1960 and subsequently constructed a dust-surfaced racing strip. This development paved the way for the first-ever winter races to be held in 1971.

Fairgrounds Gaming was established in the 1980s with the introduction of simulcast wagering. A decade later, the Erie County Agricultural Society acquired the property. By 2004, the installation of the first slot machines transformed the establishment into what is now known as Fairgrounds Gaming.

After undergoing a $250,000 renovation in 2010, Fairgrounds Gaming moved to a different facility and underwent a rebranding. The new name chosen for the establishment was Hamburg Gaming, now owned by the Buffalo Trotting Association with Delaware North serving as the operational partner.
