LakeSide Entertainment Overview
The Cayuga Nation is the proud owner and operator of LakeSide Entertainment, a quaint Native American Casino located in Union Springs, New York.
Purchased by the Cayuga Nation in 2003, the building was originally a NAPA Auto Parts store. It was transformed into a bingo hall in 2004, providing games of bingo and pull-tabs. However, due to conflicts with the local government, the property was forced to shut down just a year later.
Amid an ongoing legal dispute, the bingo hall was opened twice in 2013.
In 2013, New York State engaged in negotiations with The Seneca Nation of Indians, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, and the Oneida Indian Nation to establish fresh gaming compacts, aiming to distribute casino revenues. Interestingly, within this agreement, the Oneida Indian Nation was granted exclusive privileges to operate casinos in the vicinity of the LakeSide Entertainment establishment.
In March 2014, a settlement was achieved between the Oneida Indian Nation and New York State, which included a provision allowing the Cayuga Nation to construct and manage a casino in Cayuga County. This settlement was challenged by the Cayuga Nation.
Without delay, the Cayuga Nation promptly resumed operations at the LakeSide Entertainment gaming facility.
Located on Route 90 in Union Springs, NY, LakeSide Entertainment has transformed into a Class II Gaming facility. Situated in Union Springs, which is situated on Cayuga Lake, it is conveniently located within a one-hour drive from Syracuse, NY.
Small gaming facility
LakeSide Entertainment provides a wide selection of over 80 Video Lottery Terminal games. The establishment comprises a single structure along with a parking area, offering an intimate and welcoming gaming atmosphere while still delivering a thrilling casino experience.
You can use cash to play the game machines and receive vouchers. The bets available range from $0.30 to $9.

Lakeside online casino gaming possibilities
Despite facing numerous legal challenges, LakeSide Entertainment and the Cayuga Nation are relatively inexperienced in the Native American casino industry. As of early 2025, the state of New York still prohibits online casino gaming, including popular games like roulette, card games, and other casino table games. This law also extends to the prohibition of online slots for real money in New York.
If legal and regulated online casino gaming is introduced in New York State, LakeSide Entertainment and the Cayuga Nation might consider exploring the potential revenue it could generate. We anticipate the emergence of numerous new online casinos in New York, eager to seize the market opportunity. Additionally, some established casinos may seek partnerships and operations within the state. These include:
Lakeside online poker readiness
In early 2018, there were discussions among New York Legislators regarding the potential legalization and regulation of online poker. However, it is worth noting that LakeSide Entertainment and the Cayuga Nation lack ownership and operation of a poker room, as well as having limited experience within the online poker industry.
If the online poker market is to become available in New York, LakeSide Entertainment and the Cayuga Nation may perceive it as a chance to enhance their array of gaming options.
