Crew Hiring Feature:
Hiring your crew is a key part of Blackbeard’s Bounty slot game. At anytime (inbetween reel spins) you can tap the compass at the top right of the game screen to take you to The Salty Seadogs Tavern where you can choose who you wish to hire to join your crew.
You have the choice of 3 pirates to pick from and you can hire them in any order you wish (as long as you have enough Doubloons to pay!). Each pirate will bring a different feature to the reels:
William Wilds – he transforms into a Wild and substitutes for any other symbol except Scatter.
Frankie Freespins – when he joins your crew he brings the chance of winning free spins to your reels.
Sally Scatteroni – when Sally joins your crew she will act as a Scatter symbol.
Once one of the pirates has joined your crew you can not hire them again until you have lost your crew in a mutiny (see below for details) at which point all 3 pirates will become available for hire again once you have the necessary Doubloons.
Gameplay Tip: If you keep betting max before you’ve built up your crew, you might run out of credits quickly!
Mutiny Feature:
Watch out for the Mutiny scatter symbols – hitting 4 or more of these anywhere on the reels will lose you your crew as well as any wins for that spin. If you have any Doubloons saved you can spend them straight away to get a crew member back, if you wish.
Pick Item Bonus Game:
This is a standard “Click Me” style game that features in most video slots nowadays, triggered by hitting 4 or more of the pirate hook symbols on a winning payline. In this bonus round you must choose to purchase either a Compass, Map or Pistol from the store keeeper.
Tap your choice and your bonus amount will be revealed.
Treasure Island Bonus Game:
Hit 4 or more compass symbols to trigger the Treasure Island bonus feature. In this game you must make your way from left to right across the tiles on the treasure map finding as much treasure as you can.
Choose one tile from each column and you will reveal either an empty square, a treasure chest that rewards 100 bonus points or a skull and bones symbol which will end the round and return you to the reels.
Pirate Ship Battle Game:
Land 4 or more of the Sally Scatteroni symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger this game and do battle with a rival pirate ship. To take shots at the rival Pirate ship simply select one of the eight cannonballs.
If your crew gets lucky you will score a direct “Hit!” and will win bonus points and can then take another shot at the enemy, but if your shoot does not reach the target you’ll end up with a “Miss!” – two such misses and the bonus round ends and you will be returned to reels, licking your wounds, no doubt, but ready to fight another day!
